Online Education Programs. Are they worth the paper they are printed on?
I am considering persuing an online degree in Accounting. I was wondering if the degree is readily accepted by companies during the hiring process in comparison to going to a brick and mortar school.
Response from anyone who has gone through an online degree program, obtained a degree and found quality work. Did you feel like the fact that the degree was received online had any drawbacks?
Any helpful/informative comments are appreciated.
Make sure they are regionally accredited if you want to use the credits later to transfer to a brick and mortar school. Also if you use Penn Foster ,Ashworth or Stratford I read that some employers will not accept as legit.
I have been researching these schools and the biggest complaint I see is that they use outdated materials to train you.
On the up side Penn Fosters credits are so cheap- I checked with my local community college which has an online program and they are 4 times the cost!
I think if you want a really good online degree with no worries you should go for a school that also has the brick and mortar- but it will not be cheap( Drexel was 600 per credit) and they do not offer every course online so u still have to go for some.
If you find a school online just do some research- u can also check consumer Rip off reports dot com- some of these schools have hundreds of complaints on there!
Good LUCK to You and let us know what u decide!

What schools currently offer a master’s degree in Business Education online? The schools can be completely virtual or have a brick and mortar location.

Good luck.
online education degree?
could somebody say sth about MBA online education degree of university of liverpool?
yeah, i know offline will be much better. but currently, it is impossible for me go back to campus. online will be much more flexible for me… i just wanna to know sth about online education…
Just make sure you go to a non-profit school if its online, and the school should have a brick-and-mortar part. Also make sure the online component is not-for-profit even if the brick-and-mortar part is (i.e. Drexel online is FOR PROFIT, but the school is not on campus).
Try out Penn State University. They have a distance MBA that is well known and respected.
What school offers a distance learning in the Doctoral Degree in Education Major in Psychology and Guidance?
What school is offering a distance doctoral degree program in Education Major in Psychology and Guidance?
Ph.D programs are normally not offered on-line, due to the intensity of study. Besides, its better to go to a "brick and mortar" institution, as opposed to cyber-u.
How credible is Capella University and/or other online University with respect to employers?
It depends if you are being hired as a young person with little work experience, or primarily on the basis of previous work experience, but in a position that requires a degree, and it depends on the employer. Some, like the federal government, won’t care. Others do not appreciate online learning, and might not give your application the attention that a graduate of a brick and mortar university gets. Having good grades and studying something currently in demand, like accounting, helps. Try to get internships. They may be more influential in getting emplyers’ attention. They will also get you references and help you develop a professional network as well as gain work experience. Good luck…..
Online Education?
Is getting a degree in education frowned upon by employers? Is it hard to find a job? I am taking a course online and it is harder then the brick and mortar school. Anybody that has an online degree please let me know.
Your question is not clear–are you concerned about whether a degree in education is frowned upon or whether an online degree is frowned upon? A degree in education is a respected degree and there is a severe need for teachers, especially in the upper grades. An online degree will depend on the school, whether it’s accredited and what types of degrees the school offers–there are some accredited online schools who offer a wide variety of courses and degrees that are equivalent to any other college. But, there are also some who are essentially diploma mills that offer "life learning" credit that essentially mean nothing. I’m currently taking courses for my Masters online, and from what I have been able to determine from my manager, it’s not going to matter that it’s an online degree program–the most important thing is going to be my work references, and since you’re a working adult, I’ll bet the same is going to be true for you. Once you get your first job, education plays less of a role than employment history and references. Good luck.
