I am looking for someone that is currently enrolled in a Masters of Education Degree in Administration online?
I have a B.S. in Ag. Education from Auburn University and would like to get a masters in Administration. Online seems to be the best option for me, however, the school must be SACS accredited. Any suggestions?
Try Empire College. It is in the SUNY network.
are there any ligit online colleges that offer bachelors degrees in education?
i can’t find any and didn’t know if they existed. When I search the sites it says they do but when I fill out the application for some reason it says graduates program
There may be. But be sure to check with the licensing board in your state. Some boards do not accept online courses in your particular field. If this is the case, you will have the education, but ineligible to be licensed to teach in your state.
Can I earn an accredited Bachelor Degree in Education online?
Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knew of an accredited online university where I can earn a Bachelor Degree in Education? I would like to teach grades K-8. I would prefer to go to a state university but I guess I can’t be to picky. Thanks for any info!

I would look into the University of Phoenix. They have an Education AA program, so I would presume that they have a Bachelor’s program for it as well.
Good luck!

UDC Students Participate in Distance Learning Initiative with C-Span
UDC students have a very unique opportunity to be plugged into the expertise of university resources across the country in a program that started today (Thursday September 17, 2009). Its a project that has been months in the making and links students via fiber optic technology here in Washington to students and professors from as far away as New York and Colorado. The idea is to expand the scope of instruction and get input from multiple sources in the course of a class.
Strongly advocated and supported by Dr. Suzan Harkness, Assistant Dean in UDCs Center for Academic Technology, the initiative has been enthusiastically endorsed by all the partners involved.
The first program is a class in political science and includes participation by Dr. Harkness UDC students as well as students from Pace University in New York, George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and Denver University in Colorado.
During the course of the current class, students will have opportunities to learn directly from experienced professors and from national newsmakers, including authors Richard Wolffe and Stephen Farnsworth, former Bush campaign manager Joe Allbaugh, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Classes are held each Thursday in the universitys television studio, located in the Building 41.

Distance education is a good channel for learning a lot?
Distance education, university needs to fulfil some criteria. What is the criteria, why the employer did not recognised the degree completed by their employees during their service in the organizatio. What is the requirement so that their degree must be recognised by the employer. Write down the guidelines for starting the course through Distance Learning System/Correspondence Course.
i honestly don’t believe in distance education…..until and unless you are studying to be a teacher…….. I am sure …the courses must be competitive…..
I would like to attend capella online university I need to know what accredition I need to work in this region
I know that most schools are accredited through the higher learning education. Is this all I need to work as a counselor anywhere in the united states
You’ll need to check your specific state for the regulatory guidelines.
This is from their website:
"Specialized and professional accrediting organizations accredit specific programs or schools such as law and business schools, or programs in educational administration and teacher education. For example, the American Counseling Association’s Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) has accredited Capella’s mental health counseling and marital, couple and family counseling/therapy specializations in the School of Human Services."

Does anyone, or has anyone, ever heard of or recieved financial aide for an online education?
I am interested in persuing my education online. In particular, I will be obtaining my RN online through Excelsior (through istudysmart.com). Anyone know if there are programs out there for financial aide for online degrees, or online nursing degrees? Thanks.
yeah! i had a friend that went to the university of phoenix online and received financial aid and another little scholarship thing to! (don’t really know what it was called)
and i go to a technical school and do classes online and i get financial aid and pell grant…
Where can I earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education through an online school??
I am looking to find online degree in either elementary or secondary education. In particular, history. thanx.
I believe Phoenix Online does. And I am pretty sure you would still do practicum work and student teaching. I just did my masters through Walden online and loved it. It was very convenient and I learned a lot. Online schools are really making their way up there these days!
Online Graduate Degree, Capella University?
Does anyone have any information on Capella University? Did anyone attend the college? Any information would be helpful. Should I pursue an MBA degree with them?
Online education is quickly becoming more popular, especially because it allows people the opportunity to start/finish their college education without having it interfere totally in their lives. As long as you make sure that the degree you get is from an accredited institution, there is nothing wrong with an online degree.
There is communication between students and professors. It’s just done over the internet. Remember that every online institution is different with how they handle their students, so I suggest that you take a look at some forums about online education. I’ve listed one blog/forum site you can start out on, as well as the blog of a Capella student. Sorry for the semi-redundant links, I’m just trying to save you some searching time.
Lastly, if you do decide to get your degree online, you should know how to defend it. Some people react negatively to online degrees, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that online degrees and programs are evil or a less effective way of learning. You have to be able to manage your time and be very organized. Getting your degree online could potentially be more difficult than going to a traditional brick & mortar school! There is much more weight put on you as the student because you are responsible for your own schedule.
I hope some of that helps!!

what do you think about distance learning schools or correspondence education?
i live in mexico and i am studying industrial design, but i wanted to find some courses that would help me find a better job and related to what i want to do (i want to design toys so i was looking for child care or child psychology courses) and i found the stratford career institute. what do you think about it? would you recomend it? or would you tell me abot other long distance courses? Since im not in the US, I need them to be long distance and very good ones.
Hello starshine,
First off, let me tell you that distance learning (DL) is here to stay. Most major universities in the USA and Europe, and many in Latin America, offer DL courses. In fact, many major universities offer entire degrees via DL. Your main concern should be accreditation. Although every country uses its own criteria to certify or accredit schools, you want to be sure that the school you choose is accredited by a recognized entity.
In the USA, the Department of Education publishes a list of approved accrediting agencies:
http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ous/international/usnei/us/edlite-accred-recog_associations.html
Now, as for your question regarding Stratford Career Institute, I checked their web-site and could not find any mention of accreditation by a recognized agency. Although their education may be fine, I would look for a distance school with national (DETC) or regional accreditation.
My wife is enrolled at Penn Foster College, http://www.pennfostercollege.edu/ They offer career training and Associate college degrees, and are accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. I, on the other hand, have been a DL student for most of my post-secondary education. At present, I am working on a MBA at California Coast University, http://www.calcoast.edu/ which is also accredited by DETC.
There are many excellent distance education alternatives available. You are doing the right thing by asking questions and being informed.
Good luck,
Buena Suerte…
Are online degrees respected as much as degrees from traditional on-campus schools?
I am really interested in pursuing my education online–the flexible schedule would be really helpful. But I wonder if employers really view online degrees the same as traditional "hands-on" degrees.
I don’t know if there is a blanket answer to that. It will get often get you an interview just to HAVE a degree, no matter where it’s from (not always). But you have to be prepared to sell how that education was as rigorous as a tradtional college and how you excelled.
I can honestly say I haven’t been impressed seeing it on paper, and frankly the candidates with online degrees haven’t always been the best in my experience, but sometimes I see great candidates with online degrees, especially for a Master’s Degree.
Which good American/European universities offer Bachelors degree in education online/ correspondence?
anybody doing online Bachelor ( education) degree?
American universities don’t generally offer it. To get an education degree, you have to do things like practicums and student teaching, and that requires actually being at the university.
You could try taking a few of your general education courses online to get started and then register at a regular university to finish your degree.

Online schools offering bachelor degrees in special education?
Im trying to find a school online offering special education, I have googled it and found many but I would like some personal opinions.. Thanks
Glad you have already done some research.
Now you may realize that there is a long list of colleges offering a bachelor degree is special education. So what do you do about it?
There are three things you can do to cut down that list and make the best choice.
1-Check the accreditation of the colleges. If a college is not accredited, dont bother. Enrolling in an unaccredited college means wasting your money and time since the degree has no value and recognition. diploma/degree mills will lure you into join them by charging low fees and easy course content. Beware!
2- Do a background research on the faculty. Check their qualification and experience. A good faculty certainly offers a quality degree.
3- Ask students enrolled in those online colleges for their opinion. They could reveal what the college may be trying to hide.
Here are two universities that you may want to check out.
* Walden University
*George Washington University
Here is an article on online degrees in special education.

When Do You Think Online Degrees Will Finally Be Accepted By Professionals As Legitimate?
I was looking at an online university as one of my options for grad school and immediately i found out there is a great amount of resistance in accepting online degrees in the professional world. Even if the education is of high quality, online degrees are generally dismissed as inferior or even fake. It seems to me that one day, online education will be very common.
How long do you think it will take before online education will be widely accepted, if you think it will one day be widely accepted?
That thinking is outdated. Many professionals now take courses online to further their careers while they work. Soldiers who are stationed overseas are prime examples of online students . If you choose an school that is legitimate and has accreditation, the degree should be accepted without a blink of an eye. There are many state universities that offer these types of undergrad and grad degrees right along side their "regular" degrees in their catalogs. There is nothing on the diploma or on the transcript that says the classes were taken non-traditionally!
I got my BS in Information Systems Management (magna cum laude) from the University of MD. I also have an Associates from a local community college. No one has ever asked me if the degrees were obtained online or not . Only a handful of my classes were ‘traditional’ with a majority of classes done online and a few by TV (which was not a good experience for me). It is actually harder to take classes online because you do not have the direct support of classmates and the professor. A few of my professors were thousands of miles away. I found it challenging and rewarding because it made me resourceful though.
Do your homework before signing on with any school. Good luck! I am going for my master’s next fall and plan not to take a single step in a classroom!

Would you be upset if the university you attend offers online degrees?
Particularly if that university is famous for providing online degrees, is that a disadvantage?
I’ve been thinking like, people would recall that oh he graduated from that university, he must’ve earned it online.
Or is it considered an advantage being a pioneer in online education as well as offering degrees by the conventional method?
A degree is a degree. Regardless how you got it, whether it was online or thru a college/university.
And personally..I believe taking online classes is much much harder than taking traditional college classes at your state or city school.

What are the pros and cons of obtaining a college education online?
I’m going to be attending college soon, but i really want to know if it’s worth it to leave state or even my house to gain my education.
As of right now, I’m still in high school, I’m a good student, an honors student, but one who may be limited by money. I have only heard of people obtaining an online degree or education in order to farther their education, not actually obtain one. I was told to find information about attending or learning college online.
Can anyone help me out?
SOME–NOT ALL– of the "on-line" or "at home" colleges or degrees are NOT accredited, recognized or accepted at other schools and colleges. So you may learn something and even be able to get a job using these methods. But if you ever plan on going father er with your education they would do you no good. You would have to start all over again. Also since SOME of these colleges have no standards to meet their level is below the normal academic standards.
So be sure if you use this method you check out the history, academic standard, and transfer of credit availability. And don’t take that schools word on it, check them out with other schools and see if their credits transfer. I went to a college who told me their credits would transfer to any regular college, only to find out later that they won’t. So check it out well, and carefully. There are some very good trade and on-line schools. Just be very sure to do your homework first.
Good luck.

online bachelors of education degrees?
I recently graduated with my associates degree in Graphic Design and in this economy I did not find a job in that field and I cant waste any more time or money so I am going to work for a while with the job I do have and save some money and see where I end up. I was thinking of getting an education degree online to teach high school, I originally wanted to go and teach art but I assume you would need to go to a campus for that, and if I do go back to school I’m definitely going to take the classes online. I wanted to know if there where any bachelors of education programs online that would accept 92 credit hours from another institution.
Ashford University will accept up to 99 transferred credit hours as long as they are similar course to what they already offer. I believe they offer three different B.A. degrees in education. Here is their link.
